FALL 2011

NEW TINY TOTS 4pm

and NEW YOUTH BEGINNER CLASSES 4:30 pm

Sunday October 9th

Meets Sunday 10/9 - Sunday 12/4

(Off 10/23)

SPECIAL $35 Session Fee

TINY TOT program introduces 3 -5 year olds to rhythm and movement skills specific to fuutre clogging skills they will need.  Class begins with warm-up routines designed to teach rhythm, memorization of routine and various dance skills.  The instructional portion of the class will introduce these little ones to performance skills and clogging skills.  (*New Tiny Tot dancers can join during our Fall, Winter or Spring sessions.)

Youth Beginners (elementary/middle school) focus on introducing rhythm, memorization of routine, dance and clogging skills with fun routines. VERY IMPORTANT NOTE FOR POTENTIAL NEW BEGINNERS:  NEW youth beginners start in the FALL SESSION ONLY.

The Beginning Clogging curriculum builds each session throughout the year so fall is the only session new beginning youth dancers can join WCC.  Don't miss your chance to join

Middle School and High School youth can also check out our ADULT PROGRAM page for information about our beginning class on Tuesday Evenings.  This is a great option for the older youth.

Please note:  Youth classes include many different age levels.  This continues throughout all of our classes.  Dancers are placed in the class that best fits their skill level and should be ready to dance and interact respectfully with fellow teammates of all ages. Our performance team has dancers from grade school through young adult all dancing TOGETHER on the same performance team.

TO REGISTER FOR CLASSES

All we need to register for the class is the student name and age, your name and contact info. (address, phone, email) for our class lists and we will see you the first week.  You can bring the registration form and waiver to the studio and if after your first class you wish to continue, turn everything in.  It's that easy.

Email our Membership Director Kristin for the registration forms.

ABOUT our WCC Youth Clogging Program

We pride ourselves in our reasonable class fees -- appx. $15.00 per month!!

Your session fees help us pay our studio rent, insurance and licensing fees and cover the costs of equipment, music and supplies we use for class and fun events with the group.

Our instructors donate their time – both in the studio and preparing for class.  Their willingness to share their love for clogging with our dancers without compensation is one of the ways we can keep the costs to our dancers lower than other dance programs.  Thank you in advance for showing them your appreciation each week – a “THANK YOU” really means the world to them!

We continuously look for ways to keep additional costs to a minimum.

We have a used shoe consignment. If you cannot find used shoes to fit you, we also have new shoes available.  With our own vendor Midwest Clogging Connection available to us, our members save money on shipping and costly exchanges.

We do not have any required studio attire -just wear something comfortable you can dance in.

Once our youth dancers start performing you'll be pleased with our selection of reasonably priced uniforms - and you won't be required to wear a different outfit for every song you dance!

Session fees are due the first (1st) week of the session. Late fees ($5.00 per session fee) are applied to all balances that are unpaid 10 days after the start of the session.

New dancers may try the first class at no obligation to join.  Simply come for the first week, try it, and if you like it you may register then.

Our sibling discount gives 'one-week free' to each additional family member after the first dancers session fee is paid in full.

Our 'clogging mom' discount gives 'two-weeks free' to any mom with a daughter enrolled in a clogging class.

A special "CLOGGING ONLY" WCGC annual membership fee ($20 individual/$40 family) for our WCC dancers that do not participate in other classes at WCGC.  This membership will give you member access to their fun WCGC events and open gym nights.

Dancers wear something comfortable they can move/dance in. We have no required outfits for their time in the studio.

Clogging shoes are not needed for try-it sessions. Once a dancer is taking the beginner class, we ask that they get shoes (although we encourage dancers to wait a few weeks to make sure clogging is for them). Our Tiny Tot dancers wear tap shoes or clogging shoes. Our beginning youth and adult dancers wear clogging shoes. We have used and new shoes we sell. Our used shoes run around $35-$40 and new clogging shoes run anywhere between $70 - $85. Our dancers sell their used shoes through our used shoe consignment (sellers set their own price). More shoe info is provided at class.

Dancers are not required to become part of the performing group. If they choose to do this (usually after dancing for a few sessions), we do have a performing uniform -- the cost of which is very reasonable. Performing members participate in shows throughout our performance season (may-october). We have one performance uniform and we keep this uniform for a few year
